Debt worry and stress
Debt problems can cause
worries that affect our ability to think properly. The
mind becomes filled with negative thoughts and
fears, muddled thinking follows together with an
inability to find meaningful solutions to the problems
themselves. All this can create stress, which in turn can
manifest itself in physical, mental and emotional traits
which could develop into something serious if not tended
to.
Stress can cause blood
pressure to rise, palpitations, dizziness, insomnia, headaches,
digestive problems - and that's just some of the physical
effects. On the emotional side, irritability, lack of
concentration, tiredness, feelings of despair, inadequacy,
impatience and depression.
You owe it to yourself, and
your family or dependants to maintain good health whilst
working to eliminate your debt burden and all the worries that
go with it.
Endeavour to think
positively, and try to distance yourself from the causes of
your stress by switching off ocasionally in order to release
the tension in your body.
Take some regular exercise,
even if it is only walking round the block a few times. Take
deep breaths; get some oxygen to your brain. Don’t resort to
alcohol or drugs, you can’t afford it and it will only add to
tiredness and dull your senses. Do some stretch exercises
or yoga, meditation even, just some activity that
will take your mind off the everyday problems you
face.
If you cannot manage this by
yourself, then please consult your doctor. Don't let worry
and stress take over your life.
